Lakers Injury Report: Cam Reddish Status Revealed Vs Clippers

Will he return at last?

Los Angeles Lakers small forward Cam Reddish has been hurt so long, he essentially sacrificed his spot in Darvin Ham’s starting lineup!

It was the right move, however, as the Rui Hachimura-ified new first five remains undefeated thus far this season.

The 6’8” small forward out of Duke has been out with ankle sprain since the Lakers’ last game against tonight’s opposition, the LA Clippers. Now, Ham reveals that Reddish is at last recuperated enough to play, as Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Across 35 contests this season (26 starts), the 24-year-old has posted uninspiring averages of 6.7 points on .405/.337/.783 shooting splits, 2.4 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 steals a night. Look for him to give the Lakers' defense a boost, while contributing very little to the club's scoring punch.

Given that my top two preseason picks for LA's best perimeter defenders, forward Jarred Vanderbilt and point guard Gabe Vincent, are both still sidelined with lingering maladies (and have been for a majority of the 2023/24 season), getting at least someone with some versatile (i.e. multi-positional) defensive upside on the wing could be a big help in containing the Clips, who boast several solid scorers with handles in James Harden, Kawhi Leonard, Norman Powell, Terance Howard, and not-beloved former Laker Russell Westbrook.

So... welcome back, Cam! Please help.
