Lakers Injury Report: Doc Rivers Updates Statuses Of All-Star Bucks For LA Match

Both are ailing!

Ahead of tonight's matchup against your Los Angeles Lakers, neither of the Milwaukee Bucks' two 2024 All-Stars, point guard Damian Lillard or power forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, has yet been cleared to suit up.

According to the NBA's latest injury report, Lillard is a late addition, having had his status demoted to questionable due to a right rib contusion. Antetokounmpo has been listed as probable to play through his left Achilles tendinitis all day.

New Bucks head coach Doc Rivers has indicated that Lillard did partake in the team's shootaround pregame, but it remains uncertain if he will be given the green light by Bucks medical staff, per Mark Medina of The Sporting Tribune.

That said, Rivers also informed attendant media that he believes Lillard and Antetokounmpo will both play against Los Angeles, Eric Nehm of The Athletic reports.

Milwaukee's dynamic duo is averaging a combined 55.1 points per bout, which will be a tough burden to replace among the starters. Lillard's backup, ex-Laker Patrick Beverley, hardly presents the offensive threat Dame Dolla does, although he will improve the club's defense. The Bucks' third big, power forward/center Bobby Portis, will help spread the floor for Milwaukee if he is swapped in for Antetkounmpo, although he's not nearly the defender or ball handler the two-time MVP is.
