Lakers Guard Vows to 'Give Everything He's Got' Down Stretch of Season

A relative "Iron Man" has emerged for the Los Angeles Lakers in Austin Reaves. For a Lakers team that has gone through a boatload of injuries this season to players like LeBron James, Anthony Davis, Jarred Vanderbilt, Christian Wood, and Gabe Vincent, Reaves has been a steady presence for the team.

Despite missing almost forty games due to injury in his first two seasons, Reaves has played in every game for the Lakers this season, providing consistency for the team.

As the team approaches the NBA play-in tournament and ideally the playoffs, Reaves explained his mentality to keep going for the entirety of the long season.

"I've got everything I can give, and that's what I'm going to do," Reaves said, via ESPN's Dave McMenamin. "Every night, I'm going to out there and give everything I've got until after our last game. Then I can relax and chill. I've played every game this year, I had the summer last year, and then the extended run of the playoffs of the Western Conference Finals, but I feel good. This is when you dream of playing, in these types of games into the playoffs and I'm going to give everything I've got."

Reaves hasn't just played through a deep playoff run for the Lakers a year ago, but also played for the U.S. national team at the FIBA World Cup during the summer.

Overall this season, Reaves has averaged career highs in many statistical categories. He's averaged 15.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game during 32.1 minutes. He'll look to continue this production and consistency heading into the final five games of the regular season.
