After being a part of the 2020 Finals team, the Lakers are making sure one of their star players will not leave the team shortly.

The Lakers signed Anthony Davis to a three-year extension that will have the power forward with the team through the 2028 season.

Davis has been with the Lakers since 2019. He was acquired in a trade with the Pelicans that saw Josh Hart, Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and three first-round picks go the other way.

Since coming over to the Lakers, Davis has won a championship and has been named to an All-NBA First Team and All-Defensive team.

In four seasons with the Lakers, The Brow has averaged 24.6 points per game and 10.1 rebounds per game.

Health has been an issue for Davis during his Lakers tenure. He has yet to play a full season and hasn't played more than 60 games since his first season with the team.

The Lakers are hoping that Davis can contribute more during his new three-year extension.

His new contract guarantees that he will make 186 million dollars over three years.

According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Davis' extension is the richest in NBA history as he will be making $62 million annually.

Extending Davis was the latest move the Lakers have made this offseason. Last month the team signed Jaxson Hayes, Gabe Vincent, and Cam Reddish through free agency.

The team was also able to resign both Rui Hachimura and Austin Reaves to deals worth over $50 million.

The Lakers are putting together the pieces to win another championship and it seems that Davis will be in the middle of those plans.
