Lakers Injury Report: Anthony Davis Was Playing Hurt During Win Over Pelicans

The Los Angeles Lakers squeezed out a narrow win in the play-in tournament on the road against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Lakers were in control of the game for most of it before the Pelicans made their comeback and even tied it in the late fourth quarter.

Regardless, LA came out on top, 110-106. James didn't have the best of games, shooting poorly from the field, and neither did Davis.

Davis wasn't his usual dominant self for most of the game, although he had flashes at times. The main reason for that was that he was hindered by the back spasms from Sunday's match. The 31-year-old superstar even admitted to being hindered to reporters, including Lakes' sideline reporter Mike Trudell.

Davis scored 20 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and made three blocks. He also shot a glaring 6-for-16 from the field. Many considered Davis to be off. However, if you consider a 20-and-15 game "being off," I'll take that on some nights.

Now, the Lakers are back in the playoffs, and they'll look to redeem themselves, especially AD. The Brow was outplayed by Nuggets superstar center Nikola Jokic, and that cannot be the case in this series. Hopefully, Davis will be healthy and ready by the time Game 1 tips off on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. PT. He will be crucial and need to play at least to Jokic's level for LA even to have a chance at shocking the world.
