The annual McDonald's All-American game took place on Tuesday night in Houston. The East team came out on top 109-106 in a thriller of a game. Many prospects took the court in the Toyota Center with hopes and dreams of playing at the highest level in the sport. One of those kids hoping to make it to the league was the son of Lakers superstar LeBron James, LeBron "Bronny" James Jr.

Bronny was a member of the West team, scoring 15 points and dishing out four assists and two steals in 19 minutes. The Sierra Canyon star came in with high hopes due to his name and delivered in front of the best seniors in the country.

Even though James Jr did his part in the game, there are still some doubters out there. The Athletic's associate editor Tobias Bass asked an NBA scout to rank James 1-24 of the seniors participating; he ranked the 18-year-old in the bottom half of the list.

When I asked one NBA scout to rank the players from 1-24, he had James at No. 17. There remains considerable speculation about James’ future — at No. 35 in the Class of 2023 per the 247Sports Composite, he’s the top uncommitted prospect in the country. But James sat out Monday’s media day, so no insight was able to be gathered from what he said in that setting.

As a senior, Bronny is averaging 14 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2,9 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for the school in the Valley. While others may be low on the senior, ESPN's 2024 NBA mock draft has Bronny as a lottery pick when he enters the draft.

The 18-year-old will continue to have eyes on him as he enters the college basketball world. Nonetheless, it looks like he's handling it well and has someone in his corner who has been there and done that himself.
