Lakers News: Christian Wood Responds to Giannis’ Highlight Taunt Via Instagram
There may be a new beef brewing in the NBA as one of the games top players has taunted a Los Angeles Lakers reserve center on Instagram.
Recently-acquired Christian Wood has been the target of a Instagram taunt by Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
In their preseason game Sunday night, Antetokounmpo made a highlight reel dunk over Wood.
The poster was photographed and then posted by Giannis on Instagram. On the post Wood is tagged and is captioned, "The season can't start soon enough."
After the post made headlines, Wood responded in the "Comments" section of the post.
"I love it," Wood said. "I'll see him during the season. Just circled the game on the calendar."
The Lakers play the Bucks twice this season. Their first proper meeting is March 8th and the season finale between the two is a couple of weeks later.
Depending on how the standings are looking at that point of the season, those two games could be appointment viewing.
Not only are both teams expected to compete for playoff spots, the Wood/Antetokounmpo feud could make the game more entertaining.
The beef between the two seems out of the ordinary. Wood and Antetokounmpo have no prior history of not liking each other.
Since this is occurring in the preseason, it is another storyline that fans can look forward to as the season is about to get underway.
