Lakers News: D'Angelo Russell Already Drawing Up Plays With LeBron James, Anthony Davis

It's encouraging to hear about this collaboration so soon.

Per Los Angeles Lakers star center Anthony Davis, new addition D'Angelo Russell has already started collaborating with Davis and All-Star LA power forward LeBron James to sketch out potential plays on the team's whiteboard, strategizing what the team's offense could operate when all three players are available. James has missed the past three contests with a sore left ankle.

"Me and D-Lo literally talked the entire game [a 109-103 win against the Golden State Warriors Saturday, their first as teammates] about pick-and-roll, what he sees, what I see, what he likes, what I like, where he likes the ball," Davis said. "Just throughout the course of the game, just trying to build that chemistry on the fly with no practice and only having film and things, just did a great job of communicating."

"We even talked about when 'Bron comes back. At half time, we [were] drawing up plays on the board -- me, D-Lo and 'Bron -- like, 'Bron we want you here,' just trying to constantly speed up this process, being behind the eight-ball."

Russell has looked great in his second stint with the Lakers, and has been a much smoother fit than the team's previous pricey point guard, Russell Westbrook, as a playmaker who can actually be counted on to drain a triple.
