In staving off elimination during their own Game 6 against the Philadelphia 76ers, the Boston Celtics didn't just knot up their playoff series 3-3, they also potentially bought your Los Angeles Lakers several much-needed rest days, per John Hollinger of The Athletic.

The Denver Nuggets, currently leading the Phoenix Suns by 30 points at the half of their own Game 6, seem likely to emerge victorious out of their own second round matchup on the other side of the Western Conference playoff bracket. As Hollinger notes, the Lakers could have had to square off against the Nuggets as soon as Sunday had there not been a Game 7 in the East.

Now, provided Los Angeles takes care of business at home tomorrow against the Golden State Warriors, the club will have several bonus days off before the third round of the playoffs kicks off.

Per Marc J. Spears of Andscape/ESPN, Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals is now set for Tuesday, May 16th.

The Lakers would open up a hypothetical Western Conference Finals against the top-seeded Nuggets club as the betting underdog, as they have throughout these playoffs.
