New Los Angeles Lakers reserve center Tristan Thompson might not see much playing time during the postseason as essentially the team's fourth center, but according to Sara Donnellan of Us Weekly, he is excited to join the club for another reason: to see more of his young children.

“Tristan is feeling ecstatic and couldn’t be more proud to join the Lakers. He’s excited to reunite with LeBron [James] because they’re good friends on and off the court,” a source informed Us Weekly. “It feels like home to him, being back with friends and so close to [ex-girlfriend] Khloé [Kardashian] and the kids. He feels like this is a whole new chapter in his life, his new home, a new team. It really is a dream come true.”

Thompson, 32, was added on the last day of the regular season as emergency insurance for the 43-39 Lakers during their postseason run, according to Los Angeles head coach Darvin Ham.

He and Kardashian share a four-year-old daughter and an eight-month-old son. Thompson also has two other young kids with different mothers.

He will most likely see limited, if any, minutes during LA's first round playoff series against the 51-31 Memphis Grizzlies. He didn't play for a single second during the Lakers' 108-102 play-in victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Tuesday.
