Memphis Grizzlies All-Star point guard Ja Morant departed yesterday's Los Angeles Lakers series-opening 128-112 win over the Grizz midway through the fourth quarter with a right hand injury, and sounded like he was at the very least severely limited in the immediate aftermath of the ailment, per Joe Vardon of The Athletic.

He had already been suffering from a bruise to the hand that he incurred during Memphis' penultimate regular season game, so this exacerbated that issue. Per Tim MacMahon of ESPN, imaging on Morant's hand was negative for major breaks.

“I’m gonna do anything to try to be out there for my team, be out there on the floor, pretty much how much I can tolerate, to like I can go out there and be somewhat like myself,” Morant noted. “ If not, I don’t want to do anything to hurt the team.”

“It’s very tough, stressful,” Morant said of the injury. “Obviously, I feel like you guys can tell my body language and stuff now. Pretty much taking what happened, I don’t know, I’m numb to everything right now. It’s like, I’m not even surprised. It’s one thing after another.”

There is no official word just yet on Ja Morant's availability for the second game of the series, scheduled for Wednesday night, but this certainly isn't positive news on that front.
