Lakers Injury Report: Health Of LeBron James Downgraded For Warriors Game

The new-look Lakers may not look very complete tonight.

It turns out breaking the all-time regular season scoring record can take a lot out of a guy.

19-time Los Angeles Lakers All-Star power forward LeBron James, who had been merely questionable to suit up against the Golden State Warriors an hour ago, has now been ruled out for the game as he continues to deal with a nagging left ankle injury, per Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report.

The 38-year-old, playing in his 20th NBA season, has been less than his typically durable self since joining the Lakers in 2018. He will now miss his 13th game of the 2022-23 season, and has been sidelined for at least 26 games in three of his four full seasons with LA thus far.

The 25-31 Lakers sure could use his help tonight, as they'll be squaring off against a sharpshooting Warriors team that, even without its lone All-Star Stephen Curry, will be plenty lethal from deep.

LA will have much better reinforcements than usual to hopefully pick up the scoring slack tonight, as it appears at least four of LA's new additions -- one-time All-Star point guard D'Angelo Russell (coming off one of the most efficient shooting stretches of his career with the Minnesota Timberwolves), 3-and-D swingman Malik Beasley, rim-protecting power forward/center Jarred Vanderbilt and shooting guard Davon Reed -- are not listed on the latest NBA injury report.
