Your Los Angeles Lakers may be missing their starting point guard for a second straight game tomorrow night, when they will host the Chicago Bulls for the first game of a home-and-home miniseries.

Per Mike Trudell of Lakers.com, LA currently considers D'Angelo Russell questionable to suit up with the sore right hip that shelved him during Friday's 116-111 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

In D-Lo's absence, Lakers reserve Dennis Schröder stepped up big-time. Across 36:48, he scored 21 points while shooting 8-of-14 from the floor (2-of-4 from deep) and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe, dished out six dimes, pulled down three boards, and notched two steals and a block to boot.

If need be, Schröder should be able to competently quarterback LA's offense against a Bulls team that will also be missing its starting point guard, ex-Laker Lonzo Ball, who just had his third knee surgery and could miss the entire 2023-24 season... after missing the entire the 2022-23 season and half the 2021-22 season.

In Ball's stead, ex-Laker Patrick Beverley, claimed off the buyout market scrap heap, has been a solid addition for the Bulls this year. Though Beverley is the better defender and for his career a more consistent three-point shooter, Schröder is the better passer and more willing overall scorer.

The two teams next face off on Wednesday. Here's hoping Russell will recover by then.
