After an impressive playoff, the Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has made a name for himself in the league. Despite only being in the NBA for two seasons, he will be a restricted free agent this summer and a target for many teams.

Reaves made a name for himself this past season as he made a name for himself with his exceptional play. With an increased role, Reaves seized the opportunity and delivered outstanding performances. And now, he will enter free agency as a restricted free agent.

As a restricted free agent, the Lakers will undoubtedly prioritize retaining the 25-year-old guard. Due to his outstanding play all season long, Austin found himself on a list of the top players available this offseason.

AUSTIN REAVES, LOS ANGELES LAKERS (RESTRICTED)

After going undrafted in 2021, Reaves has taken advantage of every opportunity he’s been given and elevated his game in big moments. The Los Angeles Lakers obviously want to keep Reaves, but it’s possible that a team could extend him a significant offer sheet that makes this a tougher decision for Los Angeles.

Reaves averaged an impressive 17 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 4.6 assists, as he played a significant role in leading the team to the Western Conference Finals. These numbers, combined with his overall impact on the court, have solidified his position as a hot commodity in the upcoming free agency.

With such impressive numbers and a strong playoff performance, Reaves deserves the lucrative contract offers that will undoubtedly come his way.

LA has expressed they will do all they can to keep Reaves in the purple and gold. That should be priority number one; LA cannot let another young prospect slip through their fingers.
