Lakers Highlights: LA Falls To Nuggets For 8th Straight Time, Spoiling LeBron's Record Night

The Nuggets are the Lakers' kryptonite.

For the eighth time in a row (including the playoffs), your Los Angeles Lakers have fallen to the Denver Nuggets tonight by a score of 124-114.

An eight-point halftime lead thanks to solid defense and elite ball movement helped Los Angeles look a lot better than usual, but a combination of Denver's elite shotmaking and some poor stretches of play from LA late spoiled LeBron's record-setting night.

This loss was particularly painful in that it resembled the entirety of last year's Western Conference Finals, where LA would find ways to keep the game close from the opening tip, but as the game slowed down, Denver took over and picked up the victory, with the Lakers collapsing defensively.

For LA, LeBron had 26 points and nine assists, while Austin Reaves had a terrific 19 points and 14 assists.

Unfortunately, however, poor late-game shotmaking combined with a defensive collapse opened the door to Jamal Murray (24 points, nine in the final couple of minutes, 11 assists) Nikola Jokic (35 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists) and Michael Porter Jr. (10-10 from the field, 5-of-5 from three-point range) having big days.

Here are some of LA's top plays on the day:
