Lakers News: Anthony Davis Reacts To LA's In-Season Tournament Success

Portland was the Lakers' latest victim.

Superstar Los Angeles Lakers center Anthony Davis submitted a solid two-way performance in helping guide LA to its latest victory, a 107-95 win over the wounded Portland Trail Blazers on Friday night.

The victory was doubly good news for the Lakers, as it improved the club to a 7-6 record on the year and a spotless 3-0 record for the pool play round of the NBA's inaugural In-Season Tournament.

Davis spoke after the game, as captured by the NBA's Instagram account, about the achievement, and seemed to have his sights set on reaching a 4-0 record with a win over the Utah Jazz next Tuesday, though he did not mention them by name. Utah lost to the Phoenix Suns, 131-128, to fall to 2-1 in pool play for the West's Group A.

"3-0 in the tournament," Davis said. "LeBron James saved the day again. But yeah man, 3-0. We keep it going. Just feel good to be back in the win column."

In the game, the 6'10" big man scored 16 points on 8-of-19 shooting from the floor, pulled down 14 rebounds, blocked five shots, swiped three steals, and dished out two dimes (against six turnovers, if you want to pick nits).

The Lakers now have a +42 differential through their three In-Season Tournament games, tops in the league. Granted, they've played three very injured teams in the Trail Blazers, Memphis Grizzlies and Phoenix Suns, but wins are wins.
