Lakers News: Austin Reaves Nearing Return

Lakers guard is close to return to the lineup next week

The purple and gold are getting healthier and healthier. Los Angeles Lakers superstar Anthony Davis has been back for some time and getting his legs under him, and Lakers guard Lonnie Walker IV has played in LA’s last four games.

Yesterday, Lakers head coach Darvin Ham shared some excellent news for another LA guard who has missed an extended period of time.

Reaves has been out of the lineup since suffering a hamstring injury in early January. The 24-year-old looked good in pregame before Thursday's Pacers matchup, as Ham said it went well.

The undrafted second-year shooting guard has been exceptional for the purple and gold, averaging 10.8 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game.

His defensive tenacity, ability to be a playmaker, and ability to create his own shot have been sorely missed for the Lakers, and they’ll be getting all that back this coming week.

LA suffered some injuries from mid-December to early January, and by the looks of it, Laker fans could be looking at a healthy Lakers team for the first time in quite a while.

The Lakers are still scratching and clawing for a spit in the play-in tournament, and if LA could remain healthy for the remainder of the season, they have a chance to jump that and be a top-six team.
