Lakers News: Betting Odds For Los Angeles To Make Postseason Revealed
Even though it does hurt to say this, there were times over the last two seasons for your Los Angeles Lakers where fans were simply hoping for the franchise to make the playoffs and nothing else. A number of poor roster and financial decisions had LA near the bottom of the Western Conference barely fighting for life.
LeBron James and Anthony Davis were doing everything they could to keep the team afloat but huge workloads lead to plenty of frustrations and injuries between the two. Even though Russell Westbrook was thought to be an ideal third star next to them to help ease their responsibilities, he eventually wore out his welcome due to poor spacing and reported locker room issues.
However, the Lakers knew that they needed to make some big changes and GM Rob Pelinka worked some magic at the 2023 trade deadline to get his stars some actual depth and better spacing. After starting off the year 2-10, they became one of the most improved teams across the league and made it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
Majority of their main factors will be returning for the 2023-2024 season and they also made some big additions via free agency so they should be poised as heavy contending favorites next to the Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns.
BetOnline just dropped some updated betting odds for the Lakers to make the playoffs this coming year and they have LA at a -350 to make them and +275 to miss them.
So we'll have to see how the purple and gold compete once the new season kicks off but the playoffs should be the bare minimum for them to shoot for.
