Lakers News: Dwight Howard Reacts to Insane Career Arc in LA

It really went full-circle for him!

There are few players in NBA history that have been able to return to a franchise that they once failed with and re-write their legacy there. Despite solidifying himself as one of the best defensive and rebounding centers of all time, Dwight Howard was seemingly on his way to retiring without a championship and his reputation was getting damaged before he re-joined the Los Angeles Lakers for their 2020 title run.

It was clear that Howard had turned over a new leaf and prioritized getting healthy and accepting his role during this second stint in LA. He was not the same superstar that joined Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash in 2012 but he still had the skillset to help Anthony Davis and Javale McGee down low.

Even though the eight-time All-Star is no longer on an NBA roster, he has been active on social media this summer and we recently saw him show off how he uses his 2020 championship ring to start one of his luxury cars.

Well, Howard also took to Instagram flashing his ring once again and flexing his career arc involving the Lakers. The text on his post showed how he first ruined a Kobe Bryant vs LeBron James Finals matchup in 2009, then didn't meet expectations with LA in 2012 and finally came full-circle with James in 2020 to win the franchise a championship.

It truly is crazy to think that Howard was involved in all three of these events but it is all about how you finish. The city came to appreciate him for helping take the squad to new heights and we look forward to seeing him continue his basketball career.
