Lakers News: Expert Applauds LA For Tacit Summer Roster-Building

LA did some good damage in the offseason!

The Los Angeles Lakers will be entering the new season with heavy expectations of another championship. After making a run to the Western Conference Finals last season, the team is on a mission to finish the job.

LA spent this offseason building their roster in the best way that they possibly could with the limited resources that they had available. Most people in the industry would agree that the Lakers did very well and have set themselves up for more success.

The team brought back most of the core roster from last season, keeping with their continuity plan. But the updates that they made were the most impressive part.

They brought in some tough, defensive-minded players such as guard Gabe Vincent and forward Taurean Prince to help build things out. They also added in some high-upside guys in center Jaxson Hayes and forward Cam Reddish.

It was a strong offseason haul for the team and one that allows them to remain contenders in the Western Conference.

One writer described the Lakers offseason as being “vindicated” and that it was great overall.

Greg Swartz of Bleacher Report seems to be a big fan of the LA moves.

“Adding Gabe Vincent, Taurean Prince, Cam Reddish, Jaxson Hayes and re-signing D'Angelo Russell made for a terrific offseason overall and helped vindicate Pelinka after his prior mistakes.”

Per Bleacher Report

General Manager Rob Pelinka deserves all the credit in the world for turning a poor situation just a year ago, into a solid one now. It has been an amazing turnaround for LA in such a short time.

With LeBron James and Anthony Davis leading the way, the sky is the limit for this Lakers team. Banner 18 is in their sights, and they have a very good chance of winning it all.
