Lakers News: How Grayson Allen Enjoyed One Of The Best Games Of His Life Vs LA

Once a trade throw-in, he's become one of the league's best shooters.

Phoenix Suns swingman Grayson Allen submitted an excellent shooting night against your Los Angeles Lakers Sunday, in a 123-113 matinee win for his squad.

The former Duke Blue Devil scored a team-most 24 points on 8-of-17 field goal shooting (6-of-12 from long range) and 2-of-2 shooting from the foul line, while also grabbing two boards, one steal and a block.

On the year, the 6'4" wing is averaging 13 points on .508/.486/.886 shooting splits (that 48.6% three point conversion rate arrives on 5.3 attempts a night), four rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.8 steals a night.

As David Brandt of The Associated Press/NBA.com writes, Allen appreciates that his success this year has essentially been his ability to serve as the beneficiary of his club's Big Three: All-Star forward Kevin Durant, All-Star point guard Devin Booker, and former All-Star shooting guard Bradley Beal (although Beal didn't play last night, as he was hurt yet again).

“It's a little bit of a feel, but a lot of it is that I understand our team goes where (Booker, Durant and Beal) go,” Allen said. “They're going to lead us on both ends of the floor. So offensively, whatever shot-making I'm doing has to help the offense as a whole.”

The victory elevated Phoenix to a 34-24 record and the West's fifth seed. LA remains the West's ninth seed, with a 31-28 record.
