Lakers News: L2M Report Makes Official Ruling On Controversial LeBron Call

The NBA has made its determination.

During a critical moment in your Los Angeles Lakers' matchup yesterday against the West-leading Minnesota Timberwolves, LA superstar point forward LeBron James heaved up a clutch triple that appeared to tie the bout with 2.3 seconds remaining in regulation.

Attendant game referees, however, didn't see it that way, noting that James' foot was on the three-point line on the court, making it a two-point shot. James protested the call both during and after the game. LA would go on to lose, 108-106, having had to foul the Timberwolves and hope a buzzer-beater would save the day on their end (it did not). With the defeat, the Lakers fell to a 17-16 record on the season. LA is currently the ninth seed in the Western Conference. Conversely, the Timberwolves bolstered their position at the top of the standings, improving to a 24-7 record with their victory.

Now, the league has released its Last Two Minute Report, where it clarifies all officiators' rulings after review. Per Dave McMenamin of ESPN, the shot has been officially called a two-pointer after all.

Los Angeles will get a shot at redemption tonight, when it squares off against the New Orleans Pelicans, in the Smoothie King Center, at 4 p.m. PT.
