Lakers News: LA All-Star Overlooked For NBA Honor

Was this the right call?

Los Angeles Lakers standout center Anthony Davis did get some recognition for his play, but ultimately he lost out on Player of the Week honors in the West covering Week 5, from November 20th-26th.

The league has announced that Phoenix Suns All-Star guard Devin Booker, whom Davis' Lakers will be facing in their first knockout round of the NBA's inaugural In-Season Tournament.

Davis was joined among the also-rans by Minnesota Timberwolves All-Star shooting guard Anthony Edwards, Los Angeles Clippers All-Star forward Paul George, ex-Laker Brandon Ingram and Portland Trail Blazers combo forward Jerami Gant.

In his three contests during the allocated window, Davis averaged 22.7 points on 63.6% shooting from the field and  1.7 steals, and 1.3 blocks.

Clearly the top priority for Los Angeles needs to be adding Ws on the court, while being in the running for a major.
