Lakers News: LA Considering 2 Wizards Role Players As Trade Candidates

The 2024 NBA trade deadline is looming (it's on February 8th, to be precise), and it's no secret your Los Angeles Lakers will be significant players. It's clear what kind of player the Lakers seek: someone who can give them an extra punch on offense and a backup big man.

The options are out there, but who would be willing to give the Lakers what they need? According to Dan Woike of The Los Angeles Times, the Washington Wizards could help the Lakers out in that department, specifically in the form of point guard Tyus Jones and center Daniel Gafford.

This  duo finds itself in basketball hell with the Washington Wizards, a club headed more toward tanking than winning.

Jones is a point guard hailing from Duke and is having himself a productive season, all things considered. He's averaging 12.5 points per game on 51.3% shooting and 41.3% from three, 5.8 assists, and 2.9 rebounds, along with 1.2 steals per game.

As for Gafford, he's a solid big man who fits what the Lakers need in a backup big man. He's grabbing 7.6 rebounds a game, making 2.1 blocks in 26 minutes, and shooting 68.5%, the second-highest in the league.

The price for these two is unknown, but they fit what the Lakers need. We'll find out in less than three weeks.
