Lakers News: LeBron James Refuses To Elaborate On Mysterious Tweet
Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James loves to send out subliminal messages. That wasn't any different after the Lakers' loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night.
Many pundits and experts speculated on the tweet, which happened to be of an hourglass.
The Athletic's Jovan Buha asked James to clarify the cryptic tweet before the team's matchup against the New York Knicks on Saturday, but he respectfully declined.
“No,” James said when asked if he’d like to clarify his tweet.
James was then asked if he's thought about exercising that option to remain with the Lakers next season.
“No,” James said while addressing the media at the Lakers’ shootaround at Nike’s New York headquarters.
The hourglass could mean a multitude of things. As we know, James is 39 years old, and his time may be winding down in the league. He isn't getting any younger, and while he's still playing at an elite level, who knows how long that could last?
It could also mean that time is winding down on this particular team. The NBA trade deadline is approaching on Thursday, and James could be hinting at that. It's clear the Lakers are in desperate need of a trade.
This current Lakers team is not a championship team, and a trade, the right trade could turn this team around. Who knows what it means? Who knows what anything James tweets out ever means? However, he's not happy with his team's current state.
