Lakers News: Magic Johnson Believes Kobe Bryant's Statue, Like Bryant, Is A GOAT
It has been over a week since your Los Angeles Lakers, Crypto.com Arena, and Vanessa Bryant unveiled the Kobe Bryant statue on Star Plaza.
And there's no question it is already the number one visited attraction at the arena. Everybody loves the statue, including Los Angeles Lakers legend and NBA icon the great Magic Johnson. Johnson spoke to Mark Medina, who covers the NBA. The five-time Laker champion had a rave review for the iconic image, per Mark Medina of The Sporting Tribune.
“It’s the best statue I’ve seen,” Johnson said.
That's some mighty praise from the legend. There are some great statues out there, including his own, and for Magic to call Kobe's the best is incredibly high praise.
Bryant's statue shows him walking off the court after dropping 81 points, the second-most in NBA history. Around that image are the five NBA titles he won as a Laker and his accolades engraved at the bottom.
There are many great statues in front of Crypto.com Arena. Many hold a special place in people's hearts, but I think we can all agree Kobe's statue contains a special place in all our hearts.
It's the best addition to the collection, and we can't wait to see the other two statues set to come out.
