Lakers News: Robert Horry Reveals How Anthony Davis' Defensive Skills Led to Big Win Against Hawks

Robert Horry reveals how Anthony Davis's playing defense led to the Laker's big win.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a far better team when Anthony Davis is on the court, and when he is delivering a tough defensive performance.

On Saturday, the Lakers dropped an important game to the Warriors after Davis left early in the first period after being hit accidentally in the eye. LeBron James was completely candid about what it means to lose Davis, which he stated completely changes the game plan.

Thankfully, Davis was healed enough to suit up last night, as the Lakers took down the Atlanta Hawks. Davis ended the game with a staggering 15 rebounds. Former LA legend Robert Horry broke down Davis' night, and how his defensive prowess benefits the team.

Davis is shown in three separate plays in the above video. One such instance is his staying in the paint while contesting a shot.

He contests another but makes sure he is under the rim to secure a much-needed rebound. The rebound leads to a pass from Davis to James, who secures the basket.

Davis had 15 defensive rebounds last night, and he is always where he needs to be. The biggest weakness of the Lakers is players being where Davis always is. While the big man is often the helper in these situations, he needs more help.

The Lakers need to utilize more help for AD, so he can continue to showcase his elite skill everywhere else where he is needed.
