Lakers News: West Rival Guard Gives His Take on Best Version of LeBron James

Several answers could've applied.

Lakers superstar Lebron James enters his 21st season in the NBA as one of the game's greatest players of all time.

James' longevity is unlike anything we've ever seen before as he routinely puts up 30 points per game despite pushing toward his fourth decade of life.

The King's evolution over the years has been well documented but many still debate what version was the four-time champion's best.

For Dallas guard Tim Hardaway Jr., the answer is a surprising but understandable one for the Lebron year he thought was his best.

James looked significantly more dominant during his 2013 near-unanimous MVP campaign, but Hardaway Jr. cited the hunger for James' first ring as a determinant factor for his choice.

The four-time MVP just came off an embarrassing Finals performance against those same Mavs in 2011 and the shortened 2012 season gave him a chance at redemption.

That season Lebron earned his first MVP award as a Heat player and gave the Celtics a performance to remember in the Eastern Conference Finals.

With everything on the line and as the visitors at the TD Garden, James poured in 45 points, 15 rebounds and five assists to send the series back to Miami for the Heat's eventual return to the finals.

A stone-faced James delivered on his promise to the franchise and won the first of two straight titles with Miami over the young OKC Thunder Big 3 of Durant, Westbrook and Harden.

Many might cite 2009 Lebron, 2013 Lebron, 2016 Lebron or even 2018 Lebron as better versions of the king, but Hardaway Jr.'s response to the open-ended question is more than acceptable given James' sustained excellence.
