It's now a whole week since the Lakers' last game of the 2022-2023 season. Although it didn't end as many wanted it to, it was still a relatively great season, all things considered. Now, the Lakers brass will look for an even better offseason where they will look to compete for a championship from the start of the season till the end.

LA has a handful of options to go for, but it's no secret the most popular is to go after eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving. The addition of Irving would make Los Angeles title contenders once again with the combination of Anthony Davis and LeBron James.

James and Irving were teammates for three seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and were all seen how that worked out when they were alongside each other. We're going to hear about this all summer, and the ESPN pundits wasted no time in discussing this topic.

On ESPN's morning show, "Get Up!" they asked NBA analyst Monica McNutt if Kyrie Irving is the answer for the Lakers, and she believes it could work out in Los Angeles.

"In terms of the basketball of it all, this is not Russell Westbrook. I actually think it works, and of course, Kyrie and LeBron have history together, and it's been rumored for a couple of seasons now in terms of them wanting to team up. The basketball of Kyrie is never in question."

There's no question it works in the basketball sense of it all with James and Davis, but the question is if Irving will be sane off the court and if they can afford to bring in Kyrie, and if they're OK with scraps as their teammates.

Kyrie is a hot name, and it would be great to have another superstar; however, all things must be considered. We'll find out soon enough what direction the LA front office wants to go and if Kyrie fits their plan.
