Lakers Star Listed In Top-6 Of Key Awards Race

Should he be lower or higher?

The Los Angeles Lakers season has been a roller coaster of inconsistency and injuries. It has caused them to fall down the standings, despite both LeBron James and Anthony Davis being healthy for the majority of the year.

Even in his 21st season in the NBA, James remains one of the best in the league. He may not be the same player that he once was, but he has shown the ability to take over a game at any moment.

On the year, James is averaging 25.2 points, seven rebounds and 8.2 assists per game through 58 games played. He is still the leader of this Lakers team since he first joined and that hasn't slowed down at all.

According to Bovada Sportsbook, James is currently listed in the top-six odds to win the Clutch Player of the Year Award. James has been great in the fourth quarter this season, helping him make this list. You can see the list below.

Clutch Player of the Year

DeMar DeRozan (CHI)-170

Stephen Curry (GSW) +130

Damian Lillard (MIL) +2500

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (OKC)+3000

Nikola Jokic (DEN) +5000

LeBron James (LAL) +8000

James won't likely win the honor this season, but it's still nice to see him getting some recognition. He has had a great season so far, and James has reminded everyone how good he still can be.

The Lakers will need James to continue his domination going forward if they want to make any noise down the stretch or into the postseason. He has always been a clutch player, and he will be relied upon heavily again the rest of the way.
