Tonight, your Los Angeles Lakers will get a second chance to defeat a Lone Star State squad, as a depleted Dallas Mavericks team comes to town for what should be a very winnable game.

Granted, that's what we said about Wednesday's ill-fated bout with the 17-52 Houston Rockets, but what can you do?

LA center Anthony Davis will don the purple and gold after all tonight, meaning the Lakers should have a reasonable shot at improving their record to 35-36, while simultaneously knocking the Mavs down a peg to an identical finish.

Joining the eight-time All-Star in head coach Darvin Ham's first five will be point guard D'Angelo Russell, shooting guard Malik Beasley, small forward Troy Brown Jr. (in for LeBron James), and power forward Jarred Vanderbilt.

They'll be doing their darnedest to fend off a Dallas club that will be missing its best player, All-Star guard Luka Doncic.

Today marks the two clubs' final game of the regular season, but given their relatively similar standings, there's a chance they could face off again during the Western Conference's play-in tournament. Dallas is leading the two teams' season series, 2-1, but the rosters of both the Mavericks and Lakers looked very different during each of the two Dallas dubs.
