Los Angeles Lakers All-Star small forward LeBron James apparently receives preferential treatment beyond generous NBA referee whistles.

According to AJ McDougal of The Daily Beast, newly-obtained documents reveal that 35 "VIP users" on Elon Musk's Twitter, along with some political luminaries like U.S. Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and President Joe Biden, plus media personalities on the other side of the political spectrum like Ben Shapiro and Glenn Greenwald.

Musk himself, obviously, is incredibly amplified on his own platform.

Per McDougal, some other, stranger Twitter personalities also receive this special treatment, whose names we'll just go ahead and not repeat here. You can just read the link for yourself.

Here's more from McDougal:

"The list was drawn up with the goal of watching how changes to Twitter’s internal ranking systems would affect their visibility, allowing engineers to tweak any offending code," McDougal wrote. "Musk was displeased with the outcomes of this project, and in February the Twitter team changed the algorithm to exponentially goose only his numbers."

No other Lakers (or, for that matter, NBA players) were mentioned in the article. Anthony Davis, the most high-profile non-LeBron James current Laker, infamously deletes his social media accounts when the league's season hits the home stretch.
