Injured Los Angeles Lakers All-Star small forward LeBron James was cheered up from his perch while on the Lakers' bench during the team's blowout 123-108 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans Tuesday.

A six-year-old fan, Parker Gregory, supplied a copy of LeBron James' kids' book, "I Promise," to him for an autograph during the game. It was a heartwarming moment for a 38-year-old superstar who's been dealing with his share of on-court disappointments this season. The future Hall of Famer has already missed 23 games for LA, and quite possibly may not play again for the team during the rest of the 2022-23 regular season.

After their meeting, James wrote a sweet tribute to his new pal on Instagram.

"Dear Parker, Nice meeting you! You’re a beautiful Young Black Queen! Don’t let nothing stop u from being whatever your mind and heart desires! Just from our short encounter yesterday I know you’re destined for greatness and i will always love you!!! God bless you and best wishes to you ♾️🤎! Sincerely Mr. LeBron James aka Bugs Bunny friend! 😉😁👑"

Clearly, young Parker must have been a fan of "Space Jam: A New Legacy."

Let's hope James hits the hardwood again at some point this year. For now, he'll continue to rest his injured right foot tendon.
