Lakers News: LeBron James Reacts to LA’s Massive Win Over Warriors

Although the Lakers star remains out, his teammates have picked up the slack in his absence.

Stephen Curry may have made his return to the court Sunday in Golden State’s matchup against your Los Angeles Lakers, but it looked like he wasn’t anything that this Lakers team could not handle. LA prevailed with a 113-105 win over the 2022 NBA champions.

Following the win, ailing Lakers All-Star LeBron James tweeted out his excitement over the victory.

As the King still sits on the sideline with his foot injury, his team continues to battle their way to wins in this last stretch of the season as they aim to make the playoffs.

Along with the Lakers star (who is out indefinitely), D’Angelo Russell also sat out on Sunday with his ankle injury. Since his acquisition during the trade deadline, Russell has provided the team with great scoring and playmaking skills. With two primary players currently out of the lineup, the team needs all players on board to set up in their absence.

Anthony Davis was one player in particular who showed up and showed out against the Warriors.

Anthony dominated over Steph and the Warriors as the big man dropped 39 points and went 14-of-25 from the field to contribute to LA’s dub. The eight-time All-Star put up 15 points in the first quarter alone and remained consistently aggressive throughout the entire game with an additional eight rebounds and six assists.

A cast of other talent including Austin Reaves, Jared Vanderbilt, and Troy Brown Jr. helped with solid performances of their own, making key baskets and dishing out necessary assists. Point guard Dennis Schröder also pulled his weight by applying pressure on the defensive end.

This squad is adjusting well in LeBron’s absence and hopes to keep this momentum going. With this win, the Lakers improve to 31-34 and are a half-game out of the play-in. They face a Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies team on Tuesday and aim to lock in another win.
