Injured Los Angeles Lakers All-Star small forward LeBron James weighed in on Twitter today about his pick for the 2023 NBA Coach of the Year.

He responded to a Legion Hoops tweet, declaring that Sacramento Kings head coach Mike Brown, who has guided his club to a terrific offensive season, a 39-26 record and its probable first playoff berth since 2006.

James endorsed Brown, his former head coach during his first stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers, wholeheartedly. LA head coach Darvin Ham didn't get the same vote of confidence, but given that the Lakers are currently 32-34 and just the ninth seed in the West, the first-year head coach's chances of nabbing that particular hardware are pretty much nonexistent this season.

To be fair, it's not exactly Ham's fault that he was saddled with an unbalanced roster loaded with overpaid, over-the-hill point guards, and he has guided a much better and more well-rounded post-trade deadline club to a solid 8-3 record (4-2 without James) thus far. It will be fascinating to see how he performs when given a full season with competent personnel surrounding James and co-star Anthony Davis. Perhaps Ham will work his way into the conversation in 2024.
