Following your 36-37 Los Angeles Lakers' surprise 122-111 defeat of the 38-34 Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, Suns head coach Monty Williams was less-than-pleased about one element in particular of LA's offensive repertoire, as he told reporters in a terse postgame exchange.

All Lakers alum Melissa Rohlin, now with Fox Sports, was on-hand to capture a clearly upset Williams at the podium:

"[They had] 46 free throws. We're attacking the rim. I'm getting explanations about, we're taking too many jump shots, midrange jump shots. We're playing a physical game. They had 27 free throws in the first half. They end up with 46. When do you see a game with 46 free throws?" Williams asked rhetorically.

The difference in trips to the line was pretty egregious, to be fair. It's not as if LA unlocked some key to earning all those extra foul looks.

Los Angeles went 36-of-46 from the charity stripe last night, while Phoenix shot 15-of-20 from the foul line. The game was still fairly close down to its closing minutes, during which LA's two-way play (especially Jarred Vanderbilt's terrific post activity on both ends of the court) helped create just enough separation to seal the victory and help the Lakers get to within a game of a .500 record once again.
