When the Los Angeles Lakers announced two recent signings just before their play-in game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, one name obviously outweighed the other.

We get it.. Tristan Thompson is famous for reasons both on and off of the basketball court. He went to numerous Finals alongside LeBron James and the two will now be reunited. However, he's also notorious for his public relationship with Khloe Kardashian and numerous dating scandals. The 32-year-old will likely play a much bigger role in the locker room than in actual games.

But let's take a look at LA's other signing, a 6'4 defensive-minded guard in Shaquille Harrison. He last played for the Portland Trailblazers this season before joining the Lakers' South Bay G-League Affiliate.

It was here that LA's front office got to keep a close eye on him and they ended up being satisfied enough to call him up for the playoffs. G-League All-Defensive teams were just announced Friday and Harrison found himself a part of it.

Harrison averaged 32 minutes a night across his 32 matches with South Bay and he made sure opposing guards never got an easy bucket.

Even a few seasons ago, when he was a member of the Denver Nuggets, he was matched up against a premier point guard in Portland Trail Blazers All-Star Damian Lillard, and was able to hold his own.

The likes of Austin Reaves, D'Angelo Russell, and Malik Beasley all will take up majority of the minutes during the playoffs at the guard spot so it will be tough for Harrison to seriously compete for playing time.

However, if he does get into the games at any point, he needs to stick to what he does best. LA has enough scoring to go around so Harrison should look to be the best defender every time he steps on the court.

Everybody knows what Ja Morant can do down the stretch and Desmond Bane and Dillon Brooks can heat up as well so there is business to take care of for him. We cannot wait for this first-round matchup to kick off.
