Los Angeles Lakers Hall of Fame shooting guard Kobe Bryant was known to speak in foreign languages on the floor to mask his play plans from opponents. He spoke Spanish with Pau Gasol, and per Brandon "Scoop B" Robinson of Ball Sports in a new interview with Oklahoma City Thunder guard Luguentz Dort, he also spoke Italian with LA reserve guard Sasha Vujacic.

"Kobe was known to speak Italian to Sasha Vujacic in games. Have you ever spoken French to [Thunder All-Star Shai] Gilgeous-Alexander to throw off the opposition?" Robinson asked.

"Shai doesn’t speak French!" the Quebec-born Dort revealed. "The thing with Canada is that only one province speaks French, so it’s technically one state that speaks French and that’s Quebec. Ousmane Dieng on our team speaks French, and Olivier (Sarr) is from France. And sometimes when we’re on the court, we speak French. And Chris Boucher is from Montreal, and he speaks a little bit of French on the court, too."

Is it time for current Los Angeles Lakers All-Star small forward LeBron James to learn Japanese for some secret conversations with new combo forward Rui Hachimura? It's not a bad strategy, and ultimately feels like a clever way to evade the opposition.
