Outside of one superfluous ejection, Game 6 of your Los Angeles Lakers' semifinals series against the reigning champion Golden State Warriors went about as well as LA fans could possibly have expected.

Los Angeles defeated the Dubs in a glorious blowout, 122-101, amidst a rabid Crypto.com Arena home crowd. After starting off the season with a miserable 2-10 record and finishing at a middling 43-39 as the West's seventh seed, the Lakers will now advance to the Western Conference Finals, for a date against Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray and the rest of their Denver Nuggets, who finished with a 53-29 record and the top seed in the conference.

LA has of course vanquished the Nuggets in a Western Conference Finals before, during its charmed run to the 2020 title. But only two Lakers players remain from that team: LeBron James and Anthony Davis, of course. Even the head coach has changed!

At 38 years old and playing in his 20th season, James is not quite the same player he was four seasons ago. He also continues to grapple with a lingering right foot tendon injury. He certainly rose to the occasion last night, playing his best game of the postseason to close out his longtime foes in the Warriors. Can he muster that up against a better team a few times?

Time will tell.

Per Marc J. Spears of Andscape, here is the schedule for this year's Western Conference Finals, set to be broadcast entirely on ESPN (TNT will tackle the Eastern Conference Finals):
