It's no secret that the team in Los Angeles is the Lakers. They are the most successful franchise in the city, and everyone dreams about playing for the purple and gold. The Lakers are the NBA's most glamorous franchise and the team to beat in the association.

The purple and gold look good on everybody, especially All-Star/superstar players. LA has had many superstar players throughout its history, and they could've had another current All-Star. LA Clippers star Paul George went on his podcast, "Podcast P with Paul George," and said he wanted to be a Laker earlier in his career

“We were trying to protect going somewhere that I really didn’t want to go,” George said of his trade request from the Pacers. “Obviously, I wanted to come back home. Lakers was – you know – first – my idol went there.”

It's hard to believe George since he has tended to change his story about where he wants to play or who he rooted for as a kid. Nonetheless, George is a superstar-caliber player who plays both sides of the ball. He grew up in Southern California, and in his youth idolized the late great Kobe Bryant.

Paul's former team, the Indiana Pacers, wouldn't grant him his wish to become a Laker and instead was traded to the Oklahoma City Thunder. The eight-time All-Star was then traded to the other LA, the Clippers. He is currently under a four-year, $176 million and will be an unrestricted free agent in 2025. Personally, I feel like the Paul George-to-the-Lakers train left the station a long time ago. I'm sure I'm not the only Laker fan who feels this way.

The six-time All-NBA player is a 20-point-per-game scorer in his career and is one of the better two-way players in the game. George is right where he belongs and has no business being mentioned among the Lakers.
