Lakers News: Warriors Hall Of Famer Gets Real About Losing To LA In Playoffs

Hopefully, we get a rematch this season!

One of the best series from the playoffs last year came from the Golden State Warriors and your Los Angeles Lakers. LA ousted Golden State in six games, but it was one of the more fun series in a while. The two teams wanted to beat each other badly, and anytime LeBron James and Steph Curry share the floor, it’s must-see TV.

Warriors guard Klay Thompson recently opened up about the series loss to the Lakers, and how he is preparing for the new season.

“Stings bad,” Thompson said to The Athletic of losing to the Lakers. “Bad. Because you want to win against a team that is a division rival, you want to beat your hometown, you want to beat your friends who are fans of the team, you want to beat LeBron obviously. We have such a deep history with him. Kudos to him. He’s still out here playing at the highest level he possibly can. So, yeah, it stings. Any time you come up short of your goal, and we have many times, it’s just motivation. It’s fuel. You think about it the whole summer. How could you have prepared better?”

Thompson wasn’t his normal self in the series, and his struggles really hurt the Warriors. But you have to give LA credit for the defense that they played on one of the two Splash Brothers.

If anything, this loss will motivate the Warriors even more this season, so if the teams match up again, it’ll be very fun. This is a great rivalry and one that many fans want to see again this coming postseason.

LA has a chance to be one of the better teams this year after the strong offseason that they put together, and maybe they’ll get their chance to take down Golden State again.
