After his Golden State Warriors vanquished the Sacramento Kings in a 120-100 rout, four-time All-Star power forward Draymond Green spoke out in his postgame comments, bristling at questions about his own future with the club and the future of his opponent in the next round, All-Star LeBron James' Los Angeles Lakers, per ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.

“Stop trying to turn the page on us so fast,” Green said. “Stop trying to turn the page on [James]. We get so caught up in what’s the next thing, we don’t appreciate the current. Then you get to the next thing and you’re looking back, like, ‘Man, I wish we still had that. I wish we could still see this.’ So for me and our guys, we are going to appreciate this every step of the way.”

Green, 33, has a $27.6 million player option on his contract with the Warriors for the 2023-2024 NBA season, meaning he could become an unrestricted free agent if he so chose.

He remains a potent two-way force for Golden State (mostly thanks to his passing on offense, not so much his scoring). Across the six games he was available during the Warriors' seven-game series defeat of the Sacramento Kings (he was suspended for stepping on the sternum of Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis), Green averaged 9.5 points on .432/.273/.727 shooting splits, 8.0 assists, 6.2 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 0.8 blocks a game. Green has previously been linked to your Los Angeles Lakers before, and could be an interesting fit, though his shooting issues and age are not ideal.
