Los Angeles Lakers superstar small forward LeBron James is set to face off against the core Golden State Warriors star trio of Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Klay Thompson for the sixth time in a postseason starting tomorrow.

As Ramona Shelburne of ESPN notes, Green for one is excited to partake in yet another rematch against his friend James.

"Here we are eight years later from the first time we met in a playoff series [the 2015 NBA Finals] and still playing at that level," Green said. "That's special. Says a lot about who you are as a pro and how serious you take this. How you appreciate this game."

James' Cleveland Cavaliers faced off against the Warriors across four straight NBA Finals, from 2015-2018, going 1-3 in series wins (the Cavs notched their lone title in 2016). A very different iteration of his Los Angeles Lakers than the current vintage faced off against the Warriors in one 2021 play-in game (we count that as a postseason meeting, if not quite a playoff game), winning 103-100.

Overall, including that single-game elimination play-in matchup, James is 2-3 in his prior postseason series against Golden State.

"You're talking about some ultimate competitors," Green noted. "LeBron is one of the ultimate competitors. Steph, Klay, myself. And so to have these opportunities, we don't take for granted."

The action kicks off tomorrow night at 7 p.m. PT on TNT.
