Lakers News: Watch Jaxson Hayes Obliterate Bucks Big At Rim

That's a highlight if I've ever seen one.

In your Lakers' preseason bout with the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday evening, newly acquired big man Jaxson Hayes had one of the most impressive highlights of the young (pre) season. See it below:

Hayes, acquired from the New Orleans Pelicans, is an elite athlete with incredible above-the-rim playmaking ability on both sides of the ball

This highlight, where he meets and rejects Bobby Portis at the rim, is a terrific reflection of his capabilities and potential future plays as a Laker.

Hayes' role is slightly undetermined, as given his limited offensive game beyond his athleticism and inability to really switch defensively, he'll be a tough player to put out there in close games or against great teams, especially versatile ones (ex: Celtics, Nuggets).

For this reason, it's best to assume Hayes' role as a backup center, filling in for Anthony Davis whenever he's down, or being used as an energy big off the bench to add a spark and improve the transition offense.

Hayes has also previously shot 42.9% from 3 across a season (2020-2021), making that a potential goal for him to return to this upcoming season.

The 6'11" big man is only 23 years old, meaning there could be an element of his game that we're yet to see, that the Lakers could potentially unlock.
