Magic 'Not Satisfied' Despite Strong Start to Season

The All-Star Break has concluded, so now it is time to start looking at how teams will do in the second half of the season.

The Orlando Magic has surprised a lot of people this season, as they are currently in the Eastern Conference playoff picture.

The team only finished with 34 wins last season, but this season, the team reached the milestone of 30 wins before All-Star Weekend rolled around. Head coach Jamahl Mosley talked more about how much the team has grown in a recent interview.

“That says it all, just their ability to learn and continue to grow as a group," Mosley said. "Recognizing what it takes to win in this league and not being satisfied. Knowing what happened last night, but not hanging our heads too low and being able to bounce back tonight which is something I’m very proud of this group for doing.”

The Magic reached 30 wins a full month faster than they did last season, and it comes as a result of major growth both as individual players and as a team as a whole. First time All-Star Paolo Banchero stressed that they need to keep it up in the second half of this season in a recent interview.

“I think it says a lot. We’ve been talking about it since the end of last year [and] training camp," Banchero said. "We started this year with just how we wanted to improve, and I think that’s just one of a few examples of how we have improved. Like you said, considering where we [were] last year but we want to come out after the break and still make one final push too. I don’t think we’re satisfied but [it’s] definitely something that you can look at and be proud of.”

Banchero and the rest of the Magic will be looking to continue to show growth in the team's first game after the All-Star Break against Donovan Mitchell and the Cleveland Cavaliers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
