Magic Ex Bol Bol Signs With Suns
A former member of the Orlando Magic has a new home in the NBA.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, the Phoenix Suns are signing former Magic big man Bol Bol.
Bol, 23, played 70 games for the Magic this past season, averaging 9.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He proved to be a key piece of the Magic's puzzle early in the season, when he flashed some potential as a starter when other players were injured. However, once they were healthy, Bol's role began to shrink to the point where he was left out of the rotation almost completely.
Standing 7-2, Bol has a lot of untapped potential, and some of that came to the surface in Orlando, but he struggled to make enough of a positive impact on the defensive end.
The Magic cut Bol Bol on July 4 after the team delayed its decision as to whether or not his contract would be extended on June 30.
Within 24 hours, the team signed Joe Ingles and Moe Wagner, filling up the final two open spots on the roster and Bol was on the outside looking in.
Now, Bol joins the Suns and has an opportunity to contribute off the bench for a team with serious contending aspirations this season.
