NBA Mock Draft: Orlando Magic Gets Much-Needed Shooting Help

One of the only parts of the Orlando Magic that has been lacking this season is the shooting, and the team could remedy that in the NBA Draft.

The NBA regular season is beginning to wind down, so it might be time for teams to star thinking about who they will be taking in this year's draft.

In a recent mock draft by Bleacher Report, the Orlando Magic takes some shooting in Baylor's Ja'Kobe Walter.

"After struggling during the Big 12 tournament, Ja'Kobe Walter scored 19 and 20 points respectively against Colgate and Clemson. He showed exactly what the scouting report read all season—catch-and-shoot shotmaking, physical line-driving and limited creativity off the dribble,"He finished 35 games with 75 threes, 145 made free throws and just 50 assists, numbers that clearly reflect his strengths and weaknesses."

Walter averaged just under 15 points per game this past season and won the Big 12 Rookie of the Year award. While he only shot 34 percent from three on the season, his three-point total was impressive.

The Magic is dead last in the NBA in three-pointers made, so adding a shooter like Walter to the roster could benefit the team in a big way. While the Magic is clearly already a contender, adding some much-needed shooting could push the team over the top.

The Magic will be back in action on Friday at home against Kawhi Leonard and the Los Angeles Clippers. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
