Orlando Magic 'Took on the Challenge' vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, Says Jamahl Mosley

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Donovan Mitchell is one of the toughest players to guard in the league, but Jalen Suggs and the rest of the Orlando Magic didn't back down.

The Orlando Magic has taken pride in its defense so far this season, and the team's win on Monday night against the Cleveland Cavaliers was a perfect example of why.

Donovan Mitchell is one of the hardest players to guard in the entire NBA, but the Magic were able to hold him to one of his lowest point totals so far this season. He finished with 22 points on 6-18 shooting. Jalen Suggs was the primary defender of Mitchell, and head coach Jamahl Mosley spoke very highly of him in his postgame conference.

"I mean he was incredible. I think our guys really just took on the challenge," Mosley said. "They understand what Donovan had done last game, and knowing what he’s capable of doing so that was the point of emphasis tonight, making sure that we made it tough on them each shot that they took being contested."

Suggs held Mitchell to his third-lowest field goal percentage of the season, and a 20 percent mark from three-point range. Suggs has shown that he is a real asset to the Magic on both sides of the ball, as he also contributed 12 points shooting 4-6 from the field. And he did all of this after missing the previous game against the Detroit Pistons with an ankle injury.

Suggs and the rest of the Magic will be back in action on Friday against the only team that is ahead of them in the Eastern Conference Standings, the Boston Celtics. Tipoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET from TD Garden.
