Magic SG Gary Harris: Weakest Link in Starting 5?

It's getting closer and closer to playoff time, and the Orlando Magic's starting lineup has been looking solid.

The Orlando Magic has surprised a lot of people this season, and a lot of it comes as a result of some solid play from its starters.

But in a recent article by Bleacher Report's Zack Buckley, he outlines one starter who could hurt every projected playoff team. And for the Magic, he thinks that occasional starter Gary Harris could be that player.

Orlando Magic guard Gary Harris (14) looks to pass against Detroit Pistons center Isaiah Stewart (28) during the first quarter at Amway Center.

"Orlando isn't overloaded with talent, but this latest starting lineup—featuring Harris, Jalen Suggs, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Wendell Carter Jr.—has so far been a steamroller," Buckley writes. "That does make it difficult to find a weak spot, though, and Harris is more of a by-default choice than an obvious candidate. His defensive effort is tremendous, and his three-point shooting is badly needed. It'd just be helpful if he added anything else to the equation, because he's more of a good shooter than a great one, so his offensive contributions are often muted."

Harris is averaging just over seven points per game while shooting a solid percentage from the field. But the thing that he brings is solid three-point shooting, as he is shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc so far this season.

With a team like the Magic, it is hard to find a player that does not fill their role in a way that the team wants them to. So while Harris might be the weakest of the team's starters, everyone on the Magic does their part in helping the team win.

Harris and the rest of the Magic will be back in action tonight at home against LaMelo Ball and the Charlotte Hornets. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. ET from the Kia Center.
