This was an all-time horrible take.

Gilbert Arenas is known for making some horrible takes, but he may have topped himself for an all-time horrible take.

On the newest episode of Nightcap with Shannon Sharpe, Gilbert Arenas said arguably the worst thing he's ever said - he called Nikola Jokic the worst MVP ever.

"Jokic is probably, statistically, when it comes to overall game, the worst MVP winner," Arenas said. "He's the worst MVP winner in the last 40 years. When you're talking about MVP, the guys outside of first and second place.. the people who won MVP, their teams was first and second."

Regardless of how Gilbert Arenas wants to spin his narrative, it's one of the worst takes anyone's ever made. There's a reason why NBA legends like Shaquille O'Neal or Charles Barkley are giving Nikola Jokic his props. Jokic is beyond the phase of doubt, he's beyond unnecessary criticism. He's very clearly the best player in the NBA and is receiving praise from his peers appropriately. There's a reason why LeBron James, D'Angelo Russell, Paul George, and so many other players talk about how difficult it is to play against Jokic. It's not because he's the worst MVP ever, but a legitimate two-time MVP and one-time NBA Finals MVP.

Regardless of whatever happens in the NBA Playoffs this season, Nikola Jokic has already proved himself. He doesn't need to prove himself to former NBA stars who haven't even sniffed anywhere near the success that he's accomplished.
